"So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life - your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life - and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him."

Letter to an old Friend

Wouldn't You like to know!

Hislife Share! - A new addition!

Welcome to HISLife!

Thank you for taking the time to share in this site, which will hopefully provide encouragement in our walk with Jesus. This site has been set up for those Christians who have become weary of the "man - made" church systems and programmes that hinder rather than help Father's purposes. A new breed of Christian who, has walked free of organized religion to live "outside of the institutions of organized church" - not out of hurt or rebellion, but, who have heard a call to move on in simple obedience with the Father and His Family.

In recent times my thoughts have been drawn toward our impact as Christians in this present world system. I do not mean ‘how many people have we led to the Lord?’ But, rather, “how many people have we seen the Lord draw to Himself?” These thoughts seem to go beyond just the pressure to ‘talk the Gospel’ but rather to our stand as believers in a world system that runs counter clockwise to the life of the Kingdom of God within us. You remember Jesus during his interrogation by Pilate, telling him, “My kingdom is not of this world” That is what challenges me about the way I live my life before people who see ‘religion’ as the crutch for weak people, or the need people have only when a crisis hits their lives!

It is so easy to get caught up in the ‘rough and tumble’ of life and see Church as something we do at certain times and seasons; and being a Christian as something we have to ‘work hard at’ The problem with this stand point is, of course, that we then begin to burn out and tiredness sets in, our focus becomes blurred leaving us feeling guilty because of our poor performance as Christians. There has to be a higher and better way!

I am involved in the world of ‘sales and marketing’ and along with a friend we often joke and call our chosen work  ‘smoke and mirrors’ We use terms like, benchmark, key performance indicators, targets and results. But, these are not a part of Jesus’ kingdom or the life He calls us to live.  Increasingly, we live in a world that is opposed to the Good News of the Kingdom of God because people want to do things their own way! His way is all about Life! It is about Jesus and not us!

This world system reminds me of the king who payed a lot of money for a brand new set of ‘clothing’ sold to him by cunning villains. He rode through the town on horse back to a crowd who had been primed to cheer and hail this wonderful set of new ‘clothes,’ the king wore as being magnificent. Some of you may know the story. A young lad watching all of this innocently declared, ‘the king is naked!’ It often takes a child to see through the hypocrisy or ‘smoke and mirrors’ of a society caught up in its own self importance. Give us childlike eyes to see the difference between the precious and the worthless.

My Kingdom is not of this world and neither are we, as His sons and daughters. “As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.”

We can make a difference within our society and neighbourhoods by ‘standing in the grace of God’ We can trust Jesus to touch peoples lives and bring lasting change and we can know this as we embrace what He has for us. This is not from the power of human effort but rather the power of the Spirit. It is not about us making it happen but rather about letting Father bring it about!

Our friend, John Beaumont has put together a couple of leaflets to use in clarifying the Good News and sharing it with others. One is called “Letter to an old friend” while the other is, “Wouldn’t you like to know!”  They are simple letters that can be passed on to others who may be questioning the reality of God and need to have the assurance of life. Please feel free to use them.

May the precious Holy Spirit stir your heart and mind over the coming days to reveal His purpose in you in order that we will make a difference in the world around us as we pass through this world system to a better city whose Builder and Maker is God.

We are so loved!

John
