The Deep Place!
He sustains the weary with a word. These words have stayed with me for the last couple of days now. I love the way the Lord is intimately involved with all of our life and finds ways to encourage us each day. We are in his thoughts all of the time and yet we can so easily be distracted by the demands and pressures of life. My deep desire is that He will always be in my thoughts!
My desire is captured in these words of Isaiah; “He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen…”
Let us choose to give every aspect of our lives to Him throughout each day. Let us cultivate intimacy with Him. I must confess, I need him to sustain me every moment of every day. I am so dependent upon him to restore, strengthen and give me courage in life. Every day! I am sure this is true for all of us.
I recently read an extract from a book by Jill Briscoe which you may find encouraging and challenging.
“I ran to the Deep Place where nobody goes and found Him waiting there. ‘Where have you been?’ He asked me. ‘I’ve been to the shallow places where everybody lives’ I replied. I knew He knew. He just wanted me to admit I’d been too busy being busy!”
That simple interaction between us and the Lord will sustain us throughout the day. Cultivate this as a priority! You will be amazed at the changes in your thinking and way of life.
He wants to talk with us and sustain us for the journey. Let us set aside our ‘busyness’ of heart and mind and listen for his gentle voice within. He will sustain us in these chaotic times……………….of that you can be assured!
