The Pilgrim Path – Jack Gray
We have come across this wonderful website, which we would highly recommend to you. The Pilgrim Path is a site for those who are seriously wrestling with questions such as these:
1. What is Church as God desires it to be?
2. What do I have to do to be in His Church?
3. Why am I dissatisfied with the institutional church I am presently a member of?
4. Can I truly be a follower of Jesus outside institutional church?
5. What do the Scriptures really teach about Church?
Here you will find what one follower of Jesus has learned on his life-long journey on the pilgrim path of discipleship. I share these things with the deep desire and prayer that my discoveries may be of help and encouragement to other pilgrims on the “narrow way that leads to life.”
Lifestream – Wayne Jacobsen “Live Loved! Live Free! Live Full!”
We met Wayne in Ireland in 2004 and enjoyed a brief time of fellowship together. We have since been with him on other occasions and is a very dear brother. We look forward to more time together at some point with him and his wife Sara. He has a way in articulating “the way” – that is a gift, and we want to share this gift with you at Lifestream. Their site is very encouraging and honest! Here is a brief introduction to the site.
Our passion is to live deeply in the fullness of the life Jesus came to offer us in His Father’s House and to encourage others to do the same. Specifically, we seek to encourage people -
- To embrace an ever deepening affection with the Living God based on His work in you, not your self effort for Him
- To cultivate healthy Church life where Jesus has first place in everything and where believers are free to share His life together.
- And to live simply as a reflection of His glory where ever in the world He has planted you.
CHURCH Outside The Walls – David Fredrickson
We met David briefly over in Ireland in 2007 when gathering with believers from all over the globe. We think that the set of DVD’s he has produced are helpful in understanding about church as it can be as opposed to all of the traditions that have clouded the reality, making it what it was not intended to be!
This series covers issues like clergy/laity distinction, function of the elder/overseer, church services, buildings, sermons and outreach. It is helpful to understand the origin of so many church practices seen today.
You can find out more information on their website Family Room Media.
Wind Rumors – Paul Young
We live in a world where ‘normal’ does not truly exist except as an idea or concept. For each of us, where and how we grew up plays a foundational role in our sense of ‘normal’, and only when we begin to experience the ‘bigness and diversity’ of the world are we tempted to evaluate our roots.
Paul who is best known for his novel The Shack which has taken the world by storm.
Mackenzie Allen Philip’s youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandones shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later, in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to the shack for the weekend.
Against his better judgement he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack’s world forever.
We highly recommend this wonderful life changing novel for those whose hearts are wide open and even to those who are just a little curious!
